Gears of War 6 Expected to Be Unveiled This Summer

Rumors surrounding the eagerly awaited new game in the Gears of War series, Gears of War 6, being unveiled this summer are gaining momentum. In addition to the predictions made by Kinda Funny Xcast host Parris Lilly in the latest episode, Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb also lent support to these claims, suggesting that the game could be announced in the summer months. Lilly mentioned envisioning how Gears 6 could look in Unreal Engine 5 after the showcase of the Marvel 1943 trailer developed in Unreal Engine 5, and pointed out a cryptic tweet from The Coalition that seems to support these speculations.

Gears of War 6 May Be Developed with Unreal Engine 6

It was previously suggested by Jeff Grubb in February 2023 that The Coalition studio had redirected all its resources to the new installment in the Gears of War series following the cancellation of other projects. These claims gained further traction with the publication of a job listing for the position of Senior Gameplay Designer - Gears of War - The Coalition by Xbox. Since Microsoft's acquisition of the Gears of War franchise in 2014, the last two main games in the series, Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, have been developed by The Coalition and received significant attention from fans of the series.
